The Union Cabinet today approved the constitution of 20th Law Commission for a period for three years from September, 2012 to July, 2015.
The Commission will be headed by a full-time Chairperson and consist of four full-time members and the Law Secretary and the Secretary Legislative Department as ex officio Member.
This time, the two senior officers of the Law Ministry have been included with a view to achieving better implementation of Law Commission Reports.
Before finalising its recommendations, the Commission will consult the nodal Ministry as there had been claims that views of various stakeholders have not been included.
Justice P V Reddi was heading the 19th Commission.
