The Cabinet sub-committee on the construction of new Secretariat in Telangana submitted its report to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday.
The committee made its suggestions in the report based on the report of the technical committee of engineering officials, submitted on Wednesday, an official release said.
The cabinet panel comprisedRoad and Buildings Minister V Prashant Reddy, Sports Minister Srinivas Goud and Welfare Minister Koppula Eeswar.
Rao had on June 27 laid the foundation stone for the construction of new Secretariat and legislature buildings here at the existing location, at a cost of Rs 400 crore.
The move has come in for criticism from opposition Congress and BJP which contended the existing structures, built only a few decades ago, were still strong.
The ruling TRS, however, dismissed their criticism, saying the new buildings would be built to serve people better and in a manner that represented the pride of Telangana.
