The security forces today recovered a huge cache of explosives in the Vikara jungles on the borders of Latehar and Palamau districts of the state, the police said here.
Superintendent of Police Anup Birtheray said 300 gelatine sticks, 180 bullets of semi-automatic rifle, 300 hand grenades and 200 pipe bombs were recovered during the search operation.
He said the continued success during anti-Maoist operation has loosened the grip of the Left Wing Extremists in the area, which was their den for the last 15 years.
CRPF Commandant Pankaj Kumar, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Operation) Manish Bharati and other police personnel were in the operation.
