Teotia, an IAS officer of 2008 batch, was earlier allocated Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Her husband Narendra Kumar, an IPS officer of 2009-batch, was killed allegedly by mining mafia on March 8 this year in Madhya Pradesh. 32-year-old Kumar was posted at Banmore in Morena district of the state as Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP).

"With the concurrence of Government of Madhya Pradesh and the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Central Government has approved inter cadre transfer of Dr Madhu Rani Teotia, IAS (MP:08) from Madhya Pradesh cadre to AGMUT cadre, as a special case," according to a notification issued yesterday by the Department of Personnel and Training.

When contacted, a DoPT officer said the transfer was done on the basis of a request made by Teotia. "The request was made by her to change her cadre. The Centre has considered it as a special case and approved the transfer under Rule 5 of Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954," the official said.

According to the rule, the central government may, with the concurrence of the state government concerned, transfer a cadre officer from one cadre to another.

Teotia, who hails from Delhi, could not be contacted for her comments despite repeated attempts.

CBI, which was entrusted with the probe in the murder of IPS officer by Madhya Pradesh Government, has filed a chargesheet in a court at Indore (MP) against the lone accused-- Manoj Gurjar.

Gurjar is facing charges under section 304 (culpable homicide) and section 353 (use of criminal force to prevent government official from discharging his duties).

It was alleged that Gurjar was driving the tractor trolley, laden with illegally mined stone, which mowed down Kumar when the latter tried to stop it.
