CAG Shashi Kant Sharma signs 27 UN audit reports in New York

Comptroller & Auditor General Shashi Kant Sharma signed 27 UN audit reports during his participation at 69th regular session of the United Nations' Board of Auditors in New York.

Sharma, who is currently in New York, approved and signed 27 UN Audit reports yesterday, an official release said today.

21 of these reports will be presented to the General Assembly of the UN and six to other governing bodies, it added.

The reports cover important UN bodies such as UNICEF, UNITAR, UN-Habitat, UNDP and UN Headquarters, among others.

Later in the day, Sharma also met Susana Malcorra, Chef de Cabinet of the United Nations and discussed the present status of the auditing work of the UN and its organisations.
 

During June 28 to July 1, Sharma chaired the 24th meeting of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions Working Group on IT Audit (WGITA) at Warsaw in Poland.

It was was attended by 58 participants from 29 members or observers of WGITA, said the release.

"The main purpose of the meeting was to review and discuss the progress made in respect of five projects on emerging issues of IT Audit, which are part of the Work Plan of WGITA for 2014-16."

Six members -- Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, Iran, Malaysia and Pakistan -- presented their country papers on a variety of topics relating to IT auditing, the release added.
