To educate traders about Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and its seamless adoption, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) today said it has partnered with software product company Tally Solutions (TSPL).

CAIT and Tally Solutions will roll out a nationwide campaign to help traders understand the impact of GST on their business, the industry body said in a release here.

"The GST taxation system is different from current system. It will lead to the merger of excise, service tax, VAT and other taxes under GST. It is necessary to equip traders with adequate knowledge about the procedures and compliance formalities under GST.

"We have join hands with Tally Solutions to impart technology knowledge in this joint initiative which intends to empower the trading community about importance and acceptance of digital technologies, which is expected to drive future of small and medium sized businesses," CAIT Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said.

At a time when the government is moving towards e- governance, the businesses cannot remain aloof from technology, he added.

"With this partnership, we believe we will be able to reach out to the trading community at large and help educate them on the law, its implications, and how they can do transition smoothly with the necessary technology tools," said Tally Solutions Managing Director Bharat Goenka.

Under the campaign, CAIT and Tally Solutions will reach out to thousands of trade associations, federations and chambers across the country.
