Reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner is set to play in the women's Pro-Am golf ANA inspiration tournament.

The 66-year-old reality TV star, formerly known as Bruce Jenner before undergoing gender reassignment surgery last year, has signed up to take part in the women's Pro-Am golf ANA inspiration tournament, reported New York Daily News.

A spokesperson for Jenner said she'll be attending the sports event at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

A source close to the country club said, "Caitlyn has vowed she will attend and wants to represent ladies at the event."

The "I Am Cait" star, who was an Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete, will use the golfing competition to make a stand for women golfers who feel they need to be treated more equally to men in the sport.

The source added, "She has a strong handicap and is obviously a natural born competitor. This event is a perfect way to make her announcement to the world that she is on the golf course as a woman and wants to be treated that way."

Jenner, a keen golfer who has played the sport for more than 15 years, could be paired up with US soccer star Abby Wambach at the event, however, it's yet to be confirmed.
