The Calcutta Cold Weather Season 2016-17 organised by Stewards, Royal Calcutta Turf Club will begin from November one.
The meeting will comprise 28 race days and will conclude on March 29, 2017. There are 198 races scheduled to be run during these five months of which 80 will be cup races.
The club presently has approximately 483 horses in station including 128 two-year-olds. A further number of horses are expected to arrive in staion to compete during the season, a press release issued by the club said.

20 Trainers and 27 Jockeys have been issued 'A' licenses and at present there are 29 'B' licenses Jockeys and 13 apprentices who will be seen in action.
A number of outstation Trainers have shown interest in racing their charges during the season which should make racing more competitive, the release said.
The advertised stake money for the season is Rs12,37,20,000. A further sum of Rs 22,75,000 is the value of Cups and Trophies, it said.
