A new 200-bed super speciality block will be built at Calcutta Medical College and Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs 120 crore, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said here today.
He said the money would be spent for the facility in the 178-year-old institution over the next two months and would be shared by both Centre and the state.
Azad, who was in the city to review implementation of central health projects, expressed satisfaction on the ongoing development works in the sector in the state.
He is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee this evening.
