The Calicut International Airport at Karipur, near here, has achieved Airport Service Quality rating of 4.43 out of five for the quarter from April to June this year for combined international and domestic passengers handling.
The result was declared by the Airport Council International.
The airport now stands at the 82nd position in the 2-5 million passengers per annum category as against 237 in the previous quarter, a release from the Airport Director said today.

The ASQ rating started increasing from the beginning of March, 2017 when the airport came back to normal operations after completion of runway work and lifting of restrictions on operations of aircraft.
Calicut airport handled 26 lakh passengers in 2016-17 which is expected to surpass 30 lakh in 2017-18 with increase in the number of international flights, it said.
