California tourist dies after scuba diving in USVI

Authorities in the US Virgin Islands say a 67-year-old tourist from California has died following a scuba diving excursion.

Police said in a statement today that Kathleen Wright complained about breathing problems after surfacing during a scuba diving trip in St. Croix. They said she was accompanied by her husband and a friend at the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve.

Authorities said they did not have her hometown.
