A call centre owner was stabbed to death in Samaypur Badli after he turned down an offer of partnership in his business, following which the accused was arrested, the police said today.

Priyanshu, the call centre owner, was stabbed to death on October 19 by one Rahul Rai, they said.

His friend Bittoo, who ran the call centre along with Priyanshu, alleged that Rai has been threatening them for not accepting his offer of partnership in the business which was doing well, the police said.

On October 21, after getting information that Rai would be visiting Nagal Dargu village in Narnaul district of Haryana, he was arrested from there, they said.

During interrogation, Rai told police that he wanted to take over Priyanshu's business.

A few days before he allegedly killed Priyanshu, he had tried to kidnap Bittoo so that he could force him to sign a partnership agreement, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishi Pal said.

Priyanshu was not interested in getting into any partnership with Rai and tried to defer the deal to avoid a direct confrontation, the officer said.

Last Thursday, Rai came to talk to Priyanshu and Bittoo about the partnership issue, but when they refused, he asked for data of customers, the DCP said.

When Priyanshu refused to give the details, Rai lost his temper and stabbed him multiple times. He also stole the laptop containing data of customer and other valuables, the officer said.
