A retired IPS officer today launched a campaign called 'Bhayamukta Bengaluru' (fearless Bengaluru), following an incident of alleged assault involving the son of ruling Congress MLA N A Haris in a pub-cum-restaurant brawl recently.
The campaign is part of "Bengaluru Nagarikara Surakshe Abhiyana", which intends to increase citizens' role and responsibility in fighting crime in the city.
It will also build pressure on political parties to ensure safety of the citizens.

The MLA's son Mohammad Nalapad Haris and his friends had allegedly assaulted a youth Vidhwat, causing severe injuries and triggering a public outrage.
