'Dahan' actor Rituparna Sengupta regrets she can't get to do flicks like Alo any more.

"Alo (Light) by Tarunda (Tarun Majumder) will always remain a part of my existence. The story tells about values. Alo is all about illuminating your soul and physical surroundings," Rituparna, chosen as the Face of an LED brand, said.

"Alo, allegorically speaking, tells about filling up the superstition-ridden lives of villagers with rays of knowledge, and education of rationality and women's empowerment, a subject I feel so close always," Rituparna said about the film drawing from a Bibhutibhusan Bandyopadhyay classic.

"Unfortunately can't get to do roles like Alo protagonist 'Parar Notun Boudi' (the new sister-in-law of the village) which fosters tenderness and love," the Paromitar Ekdin actor said.

Asked about her Diwali celebrations, the actor however says, "Despite going for contemporary fashion, trends and lifestyle I am inclined to our traditions.

"The soft glows of earthen lamps and candles on Diwali to light up my house, the red bordered saree on Mahastami morning, I am more traditional in that way," Rituparna, whose Parapaar and Pati Parameswar were awaiting rellease, told PTI.

Rituparna, the Face of Pixxtron Exim, a premier brand, advocated use of CFL LEDs which don't cause glare effect on eyes and are energy efficient.
