Taking a strong exception to his party joining hands with BJP in Gondia Zilla Parishad, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today said there can be no justification for the "wrong" that has been committed.
The alliance between Congress and BJP in the Zilla Parishad has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism from the NCP.
"What has happened in Gondia is unpardonable. Nobody can justify that," a visibly upset Chavan told reporters outside Vidhan Bhawan.

"It is natural for NCP to get angry. But it must be noted that they (NCP) have also indulged in many such acts," he claimed.
"However, this does not mean that anybody, be it even a small legislator, should commit such a mistake," Chavan said, in a veiled reference to Congress MLA from Gondia district Gopaldas Agarwal, considered architect of the new alliance.
Chavan also said that survival of the Devendra Fadnavis government depended on the "unconditional support" the Pawar-led party announced for BJP on the day of last year's Assembly poll results.
