Canada's Immigration Minister John McCallum today called on Punjab Governor and Union Territory Chandigarh Administrator V P Singh Badnore here.
McCallum said his visit was an opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in key areas, including technology and education with India, an official release quoted him as saying.
On the request made by the Governor, McCallum assured visas would be issued to students without any hurdle, it said.
While deliberating upon various issues with the Governor, he said it has been decided that a joint meeting would be held soon to resolve the issues like that of travel agents who operate illegally.
