In a goof-up, Staff Selection Commission (SSC), conducting recruitment test for Food Corporation of India (FCI), left hundreds of aspirants here disappointed as they were given question papers of subjects they had not opted for.
The candidates, who had applied for the posts of Assistant Grade III (Accounts), were made to appear in technical papers at the examination centre at Government Degree College Bemina here yesterday.
"It is a clear case of negligence on the part of the SSC. We have received the admission certificate two days before the scheduled date of the examination and we were shocked to see the change in the qualifying paper," a delegation of the candidates said today.

Soon after receiving the admission certificates, the candidates said they tried to contact the SSC authorities in Chandigarh but failed to get any positive response.
"We took up the matter with the examination superintendent yesterday morning but our grievance remained unresolved as we were given a wrong paper to answer," they said.
Displaying the registration copies and the admission certificates, the candidates said, "It is a blunder on the part of the SSC. Despite clearly applying for the posts of the AG-III (Accounts) and not for AG-III (Technical), we were made to sit in the technical cadre examination."
The candidates demanded that SSC should take notice of the matter and conduct re-examination for the paper in the respective categories.
Efforts to contact the concerned officials went futile as most of the numbers were either switched off or did not respond.
