Acting on a tip off about the presence of Maoists in the forest, security forces comprising CRPF's CoBRA unit and Gaya police carried out a search in the area bordering Gaya and Aurangabad districts and made the seizure, CRPF's Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Umesh Kumar said.
Efforts were on to defuse the cane bomb which weighed 25 kgs, he said, adding that the combing operation was still on.
