"Decision on cane price would be in favour of the farmers and they would get higher price," Akhilesh said while addressing a welfare programme in the district.
He said that the government would ensure timely payment of the cane farmers, adding that it has decided to run Mohidinipur sugar mill of cooperative sector from this crushing season.
The chief minister said it was the priority of the government that loan waiver was completed at the earliest.
Last year, the state government announced state advisory price between Rs 240 to Rs 250 for sugarcane.
