Canon to add 50 Image Squares this year

Japanese imaging product major Canon plans to add 50 Canon Image Squares this calender year as it expects its retail outlets to popularise photography.

The company, which is targeting 14 per cent sales growth at over Rs 2,300 crore this year, will open 150th Canon Image Squares in the country tomorrow.

"We are planning to take our total Canon Image Squares count to 200 by this calender year. We want these squares to play the role of evangelists in popularising photography culture. These stores will help in engaging with our customers more closely," Canon India President and CEO Kazutada Kobayashi told PTI.

Tata Power moves to build Model Villages

*Tata Power today said that it has implemented a holistic growth and developmental plan for 56 villages through its 'Model Village Development Programme'.

The programme will be rolled out in a phased manner and will have real-time monitoring and mid-term and final socio-economic evaluation to analyse the outcome and impact of the development projects, the company said in a statement.

"Combining the features of laptop and tablet, it is a PC+ franchise for Lenovo to cater to millennials," Lenovo India Director (Home and Small Business) Shailendra Katyal told reporters here.

EMC partners with RTU for cloud computing courses

*Storage solutions major EMC today said it has partnered with Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) to provide "domain expert training expertise" and conduct faculty development programmes on cloud, information storage and data analytics.

Under the partnership, EMC will train over 1,000 faculty members in three years, it said in a statement.

Travel portal TripHobo teams up with Skyscanner

*Travel itinerary planning portal TripHobo has partnered with global travel search engine Skyscanner to enable its users to compare prices for hotels, flights and car rentals.

Applications of 'Skyscanner for Business' for car hire, hotels and flight search will provide real-time availability and pricing to TripHobo, the company said in a statement today.
