"Cylinder booked by LPG consumers after September 23 will be considered as the first of the six subsidised ones permitted in a year," Deshmukh said.
However, even as the Congress had earlier asked the party-ruled states to raise the cap on subsidised cooking gas cylinders from six to nine, according to Deshmukh, the state government was yet to receive a proposal from the Centre in this regard.
The Centre is also yet to inform the state about the rates of non-subsidised LPG cylinders, he added.
According to Deshmukh, there are 1.71 crore LPG consumers in the state.
Meanwhile, the minister warned of strict action under Essential Commodities Act if LPG distributors stop delivery of cylinders or discontinue supply to the consumers.
He was responding to questions on LPG distributors threatening to discontinue home delivery to consumers. "They cannot take such a decision," the minister said.
