A 33-year-old man was killed after he lost control over his car, allegedly in an inebriated state, and fell into River Yamuna at ITO Bridge, police said today.

The incident took place 10.40 PM last night, when the victim Ajju Kumar, a resident of east Delhi's Guru Ram Das Nagar area, was in an inebriated condition during the accident, they said.

However, no conclusions can be drawn at this time as Kumar's post-mortem report was yet to come.

According to police, some commuters taking the ITO bridge told them that they saw a car drifting aside and falling into the riverbed.

"A police team rushed to the spot and took Kumar to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on admission," said a police official.
