Car hits pilgrims in Rajasthan, three killed

A speeding car ran over seven pilgrims en route the Ramdevra Temple in Rajasthan's Pali district, killing three women on the spot, police said on Sunday.

The devotees were walking on the Beawar-Ahmedabad national highway on Saturday when the accident occurred, SHO Sendra police station Premaram said.

Three women were killed and four injured, he said.

The victims were identified as Sugri Mehrat (40), Puja Rawat (18) and Patashi Mehrat (58).

The bodies were handed over to their family members after post-mortem, the SHO said.

Car driver Dev Karan has been arrested, he said.
