A 10-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car following which irate locals set the vehicle on fire in Jamianagar locality here, police said today.
The girl was last evening playing outside her house when the car crushed her to death.
The irate locals then set the car on fire and thrashed the occupants before handing them over to police while the car driver managed to escape.
Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The body has been sent for postmortem.
