Car of Railway Minister's cavalcade hits man

An unknown person was hit by one of the cars of Union Railway Minister D V Sadanand Gowda's cavalcade here today as the motorist tried to intrude into the cavalcade, police said.

"An unknown bike-rider was hit by one of the cars when he mistakenly intrude into the cavalcade of Union Railway Minister D V Sadanand Gowda," Police Inspector F K Jogal, told PTI.

The incident occurred early this morning when the minister along with senior railway officials was heading towards the Circuit house Annexe from Sabarmati railway station, Jogal said.

Car of the ministers was not involved in the accident, he added.
 

Due to the intruder, three to four cars of the railway officials, which were following the cavalcade collided and were damaged, Jogal said.

The man was not identified as he immediately stood up after being hit and drove away, he said, adding police got information from onlookers account.

When the Railway minister's cavalcade passed from the area, the man might have thought that he could drive behind the cavalcade, but it has also included some of the cars of railway officials which allegedly hit the motorcycle, he added.
