Carcasses of 9 peahens found in Rajasthan

Carcasses of nine peahens were found in Nainwa forest range area in the district today.

The peahens are suspected to have been poisoned by people of Kanjar tribe who consume the bird's meat.

However, the actual reason for the death would be ascertained only after the postmortem report, Digvijay Gupt, District Forest Officer (DFO), Bundi said.

The incident was reported by Vishnu Sharma, president of Nehru Yuvak Mandal, who saw the carcasses scattered infront of the state-run girls school in Samedhi village.

He said the birds may have been poisoned by poachers belonging to Kanjar tribe who dwell around the area in makeshift tents.
