Forest department personnel today recovered the carcasses of three wild boars from an abandoned well located in a forested area in Ganjam district, police said today.
Forest range officer Digapahandi Paramanand Panigrahy said the wild boars may have fallen into the well on Wednesday night and died inside it.
One of the forest staffs found the carcasses of the wild boar floating inside the well at Bhusunda village in Digaphadi forest range and informed the authorities.
"We along with the veterinary surgeons rushed to the spot and recovered the animal carcasses," he said adding post mortem was conducted on them.
