Cardamom brown rises on stockists buying

Cardamom brown prices firmed up by Rs 20 per kg at the wholesale kirana market today on emergence of stockists buying following pick up in demand from retailers.

However, other spices held steady in thin trade.

Marketmen said stockists buying on the back of pick up in demand from retailers against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up cardamom brown prices.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut were up by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,370-1,390 and Rs 1,440-1,640 per kg respectively.

Ajwain (per kg) 175-240, black pepper (per kg) 720-860, betel-nut (kg) 260-330, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,370-1,390 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,440-1,640.
 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 570-700, cardamom (colour robin) 570-580, cardamom bold 600-620, cardamom extra (bold) 700-720 and cloves 560-690.
