Cardamom down 0.24% on profit-booking

Sluggish demand in spot market also puts pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices were down by 0.24 per cent to Rs 1,066 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in February month fell by Rs 2.60, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 1,066 per kg in business turnover of 199 lots.

The March contract shed Rs 1.70, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 1,122 per kg in 21 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit booking by participants at existing higher levels, sluggish demand in spot market also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
