Cardamom prices fell 0.40 per cent to Rs 1,364 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand against adequate stocks.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January declined by Rs 5.50, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 1,364 per kg in a business turnover of 23 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February was trading lower by Rs 2.80, or 0.20 per cent to Rs 1,402.20 per kg in 8 lots.
Analysts said, offloading of positions by participants owing to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
