Cardamom prices fell by 0.51% to Rs 774.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators locked in gains at prevailing higher levels amid easing demand in the spot market.

Besides, adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month January 2016 fell by Rs 4, or 0.51%, to Rs 774.90 per kg in a business turnover of 57 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December eased by Rs 3.10, or 0.42%, to Rs 735.50 per kg in 185 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to profit-booking by speculators at existing levels amid decline in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.
