Cardamom prices fell by 0.71% to Rs 974 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels amid a weak demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July declined by Rs 7, or 0.71%, to Rs 974 per kg in a business turnover of 36 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June shed Rs 5.10, or 0.52%, to Rs 977 per kg in 277 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at current levels, subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supplies from producing regions mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
