Cardamom declines by 1% on subdued demand

Speculators locked in gains at prevailing levels amid subdued demand

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices fell over 1% to Rs 876 per kg in futures trade today as speculators locked in gains at prevailing levels amid subdued demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January fell by Rs 9, or 1.01%, to Rs 876 per kg in a business turnover of 51 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December declined Rs 8.30, or 0.97%, to Rs 845 per kg in 300 lots.

Analysts said profit booking by speculators at current levels amid low demand in the spot market mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
