Cardamom prices eased by 1.15 per cent to Rs 880 per kg in futures trade today as speculators locked-in gains at prevailing higher levels amid decline in demand in spot markets against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell by Rs 10.20, or 1.15 per cent to Rs 880 per kg in business turnover of 92 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 9.10, or 1.09 per cent to Rs 858.30 per kg in 49 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels and easing demand at spot markets, mainly led to the decline in cardamom prices in futures trade.
