Cardamom prices fell by 0.87 per cent to Rs 1,295 per kg in futures trading today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November month declined by Rs 11.30, or 0.87 per cent, to Rs 1,295 per kg in business turnover of 40 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in far-month December contracts traded lower by Rs 6.20, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 1,358.50 per kg in 101 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, easing demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on higher supplies from producing regions mainly led to the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
