Cardamom prices fell by 0.93 per cent to Rs 1,177 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September month declined by Rs 11, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 1,177 per kg in a business turnover of 312 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in October contracts traded lower by Rs 9, or 0.76 per cent, to Rs 1,183 per kg in 110 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, easing demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
