Cardamom down 1.4% on adequate stocks

Spice for delivery in October lost 1.17%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices were down by 1.36% to Rs 900.00 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, driven by adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing belts.

However, spot market demand ahead of festival season, restricted the losses.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November plunged by Rs 12.40, or 1.36% to Rs 900.00 per kg in business turnover of 120 lots.

In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in October lost Rs 10.60, or 1.17% to Rs 896.30 per kg in 404 lots.

Market analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to adequate stocks on increased arrivals from producing belts but spot demand ahead of festive season, capped the fall.
