Cardamom prices moved down by 1.37 per cent to Rs 1,010 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on easing demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June month fell by Rs 14, or 1.37 per cent to Rs 1,010 per kg in business turnover of 87 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in far-month September contracts traded lower by Rs 10.90, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 849 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by participants, triggered by muted demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on increased supplies from producing belts, mainly kept cardamom prices lower at futures trade.
