Cardamom up 0.3% as demand picks up

The prices surged as participants enlarged positions following rise in demand at domestic market

Amid pickup in domestic demand, cardamom prices edged up 0.38 per cent to Rs 813.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 3.10, or 0.38 per cent to Rs 813.70 per kg in a business turnover of 117 lots.

The prices surged as participants enlarged positions following rise in demand at domestic market.

Besides, restricted supplies from growing belts influenced cardamom prices, they said.
