Cardamom futures extend gain on spot demand

Cardamom prices rose further by 0.79 per cent to Rs 786 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in widening positions supported by good buying at spot market amid tight stocks position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in September rose Rs 6.20, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 786 per kg in a business turnover of 13 lots.

Spice for delivery in July contracts gained Rs 4.20, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 809.20 per kg in 106 lots.

Market analysts said besides rise in demand at the spot market, tight supplies from producing regions helped cardamom prices to trade higher at futures trade.
