Cardamom prices rose by 0.60% to Rs 916.80 per kg in futures trading today as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot market on strong demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August gained Rs 5.50 or 0.60% to Rs 916.80 per kg in a business turnover of 12 lots.
The spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 4.10 or 0.46% to Rs 896 per kg in 38 lots.

Marketmen said increasing of positions by traders following surging demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
Some exports enquiries also supported the upside, they said.
