Continuing its rising streak for the fourth day, cardamom prices gained another 0.66% to Rs 1,005 per kg in futures trade today as participants engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on strong demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August advanced by Rs 6.60 or 0.66% to Rs 1,005 per kg in business turnover of 2 lots.

On similar lines, the spice for delivery in September contracts edged up by Rs 3.70 or 0.38% to Rs 972 per kg in 62 lots.

Analysts said building up of positions by traders on the back of surging domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly kept cardamom prices higher at futures trade.
