Cardamom down 0.4% on profit-booking

Spice for delivery in February shed 0.2%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Amid profit-booking by speculators and sluggish demand in the spot market, cardamom prices fell by 0.41 per cent to Rs 677 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January fell by Rs 2.80, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 677 per kg in business turnover of 140 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in February shed Rs 1.50, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 707.20 per kg in 23 lots.

Analysts attributed the fall in cardamom futures to profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels and low demand in the spot market.
