Cardamom futures fell by 0.92% to Rs 998.10 per kg today, as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

Besides, sufficient stocks in the physical market also influenced cardamom prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for February 2015 contract declined by Rs 9.30, or 0.92%, to Rs 998.10 per kg with a business turnover of 146 lots.

The spice for delivery in January was down by Rs 6.80, or 0.69%, to Rs 966 per kg with a trading volume of 285 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
