Cardamom down 1.1% on profit-booking

Spice for delivery in February 2015 fell by 0.66%

Cardamom futures fell by 1.10% to Rs 907.40 per kg today as traders booked profits amid sluggish spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for January 2015 contract declined by Rs 10.10, or 1.10%, to Rs 907.40 per kg with a business turnover of 777 lots.

The spice for delivery in February 2015 fell by Rs 6.30, or 0.66%, to Rs 934.60 per kg with a trading volume of 116 lots.

Marketmen said profit booking by speculators at existing levels and fall in demand in spot market also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures market.
