Cardamom futures fell by 1.27 per cent to Rs 1,180 per kg today as traders trimmed their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.

Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also fuelled the downtrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October declined by Rs 15.20 or 1.27 per cent to Rs 1,180 per kg in a business turnover of 95 lots.

The spice for delivery in September was down by Rs 12.30 or 1.07 per cent to Rs 1,135 per kg with a trading volume of 30 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by participants owing to a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly put pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
