Cardamom fall by 1.5% on low demand

Speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices fell by 1.51% to Rs 1,057 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April fell further by Rs 16.20, or 1.51%, to Rs 1,057 per kg in a business turnover of 63 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 14.50, or 1.36%, to Rs 1,067.90 per kg in 331 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market, kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade.
