Cardamom prices drifted lower by 2.80 per cent to Rs 965 per kg in futures trade today as speculators cut bets, taking negative cues from spot market on low demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April fell by Rs 27.80, or 2.80 per cent, to Rs 965 per kg in a business turnover of one lot.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in May contracts shed Rs 3.10, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 1,040 per kg in 2 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts weighed on cardamom futures.
