Cardamom futures fell by 2.81% to Rs 826 per kg today as traders reduced holdings amid sluggish spot demand amid profit-booking.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for May contracts declined by Rs 23.90, or 2.81%, to Rs 826 per kg with a business turnover of 244 lots.

The spice for delivery in June fell by Rs 23.60, or 2.72%, to Rs 843 per kg with a trading volume of 49 lots.

Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, low demand at spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures market.
