Cardamom gains by 1.9% on rising spot demand

Traders enlarged their commitments, supported by a pick-up in export

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom futures traded higher by 1.86% to Rs 874 per kg today as traders enlarged their commitments, supported by a pick-up in export and domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November rose by Rs 16, or 1.86%, to Rs 874 per kg, with a business turnover of 90 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in October edged up by Rs 15.10, or 1.77%, to Rs 864.80 per kg in 453 lots.

Marketmen attributed rise in cardamom prices at futures trade to pick up in demand in the spot markets following beginning festive and wedding season.
